A one-of-a-kind reversible bucket hat created as a personal tribute to one of the most influential hip-hop artists of the 90s — J Dilla. Handmade from an 8-year-old Dilla tee gifted to me for my birthday and paired with reclaimed denim jeans, this piece blends nostalgia, music history, and sustainable fashion into a wearable work of art.
One side features the iconic donut graphic from the original T-shirt, framed with layered topstitching and playful sprinkles inspired by Dilla’s signature aesthetic. The reverse side is crafted from deep indigo denim, finished with a embroidered “Dilla” script for a clean, understated look. Two sides, two moods — one legacy.
Like all EyeLoveLu creations, this hat began with deconstructing secondhand garments, washing, pressing, and precisely cutting each panel. Fully interfaced for structure and comfort, the hat takes hours to assemble and is completely unique — a single wearable memory, never to be recreated.
